If you think you have a cavity in one or more teeth, then it’s important to call our office and schedule an appointment with our dentist, Dr. Mark Ranzinger. However, that might be a tough task if you’re not sure which signs tell of a cavity. So, our dental team will be happy to tell you all about the symptoms involved so you know when to call our office. The symptoms of a cavity include:

-Tooth pain (A toothache is one of the most common symptoms of a cavity)

-Pain when putting pressure on the tooth (Sensitivity while chewing is a major sign)

-A noticeable pit in the tooth (If there is a hole in the tooth, big or small, that’s a big sign of a cavity. Sometimes the pits are only noticeable in an X-ray)

-Pus around the tooth (If pus leaks out of the surrounding gums, it’s very important to visit our office for treatment)

Unfortunately, there are many causes of cavities, like plaque buildup, poor oral hygiene, consuming high amounts of sugary or high-carbohydrate foods and drinks, dry mouth and exposing your teeth to bacteria and acid. If you think you might have a cavity, please schedule an appointment immediately. You don’t want it to get worse.
